There is this quote going around where people assert that wanting things from the Lord like your relationship restored or for your body to be healed is idolatrous. In this warped religious mindset, they pretend they are more virtuous by having nothing and never getting their prayers answered. Supposedly, this means that they are only seeking God, contrary to all the plain things Jesus taught about if we really seek God then all these things are added unto us (Matthew 6:33), and the numerous times He says that we can ask and receive, or have what we say.
