The traditional false humility saying of “I am just giving back” or “we need to give back” presumes that the giving is a debt owed by those who have attained success for those who have not. It is not a debtor/creditor relationship. We are to give cheerfully, not grudgingly or of necessity (like the necessity of a debt).
