Poverty can be cured in the hearts of men, but only when the cause of it is properly addressed. Just throwing money at poor people will not change the situation that they are in except for a short period of time (till the money runs out). Poverty is a disease that is caused by sin, and eradicating the disease should be the top priority for any who truly want to help the poor. Helping the poor renew their minds to the goodness of God is of the utmost importance if they are to ever be cured of the disease of poverty.
